Textile Detergent for At-Home Tie Dye & Ice Dye
We have been tie-dyeing since 2013, and our love for the process is just as strong as the end product. We are excited to announce that we are offering tools and chemicals for DIY ice dyeing and tie-dyeing at home! Whether you are having a get together with friends, wanting to learn a new hobby or skill, or you want to find the perfect gift for that DIY friend of yours, then our kits are perfect!
- Glass (better for the environment) bottle.
- Professional non-toxic textile detergent - 2 oz.
HOW DO I USE IT?
Many tie dye guides typically call for Synthrapol, but we have always used a non-toxic version of this when we wash out our dyes. You use this detergent when washing your freshly dyed items for the first time. You add 2 oz. (half the bottle) into your washer's detergent slot for one load of tie dye clothing after the clothes have been rinsed out in the sink. We recommend only washing like-colors together to avoid colors getting muddy in the wash.
WHY DO I NEED IT?
Textile detergent helps fiber reactive dyes bond to fabric better and stay vibrant. Only use it for the initial wash out phase. For future washing of your dyed clothes, use a gentle store-bought detergent and wash with similar colors.
HOW IS THIS SUSTAINABLE?
We chose to use glass bottles instead of plastic to be more eco-friendly. Please clean and re-use your containers when you are finished with them. If you do not plan on re-using your containers, please message us and we will send you a label to send them back to us for recycling!
