Every item is pre-shrunk and then washed again after it is dyed.
For the first wash, we suggest washing it alone or with like-colors.
1. Wash on delicate cycle in cold or warm water. Use a gentle detergent.
2. We have not experienced bleeding, but every wash machine and detergent is different. If you are concerned, wash with like-colors or alone.
3. Hang to dry. You can tumble dry on low, but we find clothing lasts longer if it is hung to dry.
4. Iron (you can use a little starch spray), *do not* use steam. Steam has the potential of causing some colors to bleed due to extreme heat and moisture.
Unless your item is the sample size, it will vary from the one in the photo.
Just remember that everything we do is hand-dyed and tie-dyed. The beauty of hand-dyed tie-dye is the ability to make every single piece completely unique. We aren't copying and printing onto fabric, which we think looks totally different than something that is hand-dyed. We dye in very small batches. There may be dots of color, unusual and stunning patterns, blending of colors, unexpected tints, and variations with each and every piece. The thing is, we don't consider these things imperfections. We see all of these variations as beautiful just like with all living creatures. It is the uniqueness that sets everything and everyone apart. As you can see from our reviews on Etsy, we consistently receive 5-stars for our hand-dyed clothing. We just want to make sure you know this isn't your typical department store, factory-made clothing. We consider ourselves artists, and we are creating completely original works of art for you to wear!
As of right now we do not currently accept custom orders. We have offered custom orders in the past, however it had a more substantial environmental impact. More dye and materials are wasted with individual orders compared to creating clothing in batches. We also had instances where customers decided they didn't want their custom item, which resulted in money loss and wasted product.
The dyes we use are fiber reactive, which means they bind to the fabrics much better than other dyes on the market. However, tie-dye must be properly taken care of or it can lose color overtime. We recommend following our care instructions carefully and keeping it our of direct sunlight when storing it. Some hues such as black may fade more overtime if not properly cared for. Avoid exposing your tie-dye clothing to moisture for long periods of time as some colors (particularly blues, purples, and reds) may have the potential to run.

Many of our customers say it's like getting a gift in the mail when they receive their Akasha Sun clothing. That's because we package each item in its own individual colored gauze bag. Therefore, each item is already gift wrapped! If you are sending a gift to someone, please leave a note at checkout and we will make sure to leave out all order information and make it extra special for the recipient.
We ship out items most days except Saturday and Sunday. One average, items ship out within 1-3 business days. If you need your item quickly, please let us know and we will put it in hyper-warp! Also make sure to choose express or priority shipping if you have a time limit.
We use USPS for all of our shipping. For all packages under 1 lb. we ship First Class mail, and for packages for 1 lb. we ship Priority Mail. Typical transit time takes anywhere from 3-7 days. If you would like to upgrade to faster shipping, choose Express shipping which takes 1-2 days.
If you want to cancel your order, please contact as soon as possible. We try to get orders out quickly, so if your item has already been packaged we will not be able to cancel it.
For international orders we provide you with the option of First Class International and Priority Mail International. We do not recommend using First Class International since we have had several incidences with packages getting lost in shipment overseas. Priority Mail International is more expensive, but we believe it's worth it. Depending on your location and other circumstances, you should receive your item within 7-20 business days. Please note that we are not responsible for customs fees or other additional fees.
First Class International shipments are offered at the customer's own risk.
Once your order is shipped, you will receive a tracking number at the email or phone number you provided. If you signed up for an account, you can also view your tracking information by logging into your account on our website.
RETURNS & EXCHANGES
Akasha Sun is committed to providing the highest level of customer care. To ensure each customer is completely satisfied, we guarantee all Akasha Sun products to perform to the highest quality standards. If you have an issue with any of our products or something does not fit, please contact us immediately. We take pride in the clothing that we produce, and we will work to ensure you are satisfied.
We have a 30-day return policy, which means you have 30 days after receiving your item to request a return.
To be eligible for a return, your item must be in the same condition that you received it, unworn or unused, with tags, and in its original packaging. You’ll also need the receipt or proof of purchase.
To start a return, you can contact us at email@example.com. If your return is accepted, we’ll send you a return shipping label, as well as instructions on how and where to send your package. Items sent back to us without first requesting a return will not be accepted.

Damages and issues
Please inspect your order upon reception and contact us immediately if the item is defective, damaged or if you receive the wrong item, so that we can evaluate the issue and make it right.
Exceptions / non-returnable items
Certain types of items cannot be returned, like perishable goods (such as food, flowers, or plants), custom products (such as special orders or personalized items), and personal care goods (such as beauty products). We also do not accept returns for hazardous materials, flammable liquids, or gases. Please get in touch if you have questions or concerns about your specific item.
Unfortunately, we cannot accept returns on sale items or gift cards.
We will notify you once we’ve received and inspected your return, and let you know if the refund was approved or not. If approved, you’ll be automatically refunded on your original payment method. Please remember it can take some time for your bank or credit card company to process and post the refund too.
Shipping charges are non-refundable. We do not pay for return shipping. We will only cover the out-going cost of shipping on exchanges (domestic only).
Akasha Sun would be happy to offer returns and exchanges from countries outside of the US, however, please keep in mind that the customer will be fully responsible for checking that all applicable duties and taxes would be charged to them directly if any should arise. If Akasha Sun is requested to pay for additional taxes upon arrival of your returned merchandise we will refuse the parcel and it will be returned to the sender. All international shipping fees for both returns and exchanges are to be paid by the customer.
Please contact us if you would like to return or exchange an item. We will provide you with a return label that you can adhere to the package your items were sent in. Our shipping bags can be reused for return shipment by using the second unused adhesive strip on the flap. Make sure to properly package return items so they are not damaged in shipment. We are not responsible for any damages.
All of our clothing is hand-dyed and one-of-a-kind. This is listed on every single product page. When you purchase hand-dyed clothing, you can expect to be receiving a unique product. Imperfections in the dye is to be expected, and adds to the character of the clothing. Your product may vary from the one in the photo since it is impossible to replicate hand dyed garments. These variations are not considered imperfections.
If your product has damage or is defective, please contact us as soon as possible. Your satisfaction is our number one priority!
We are not responsible if overtime your garment fades or bleeds from improper care. If you feel that your garment is defective, contact us and we can figure it out.
